New design for my blog!!!!
Anywhoo... here's a joke i found.
A man and a boy entered a barber's shop together. After the man had received a shave and a haircut, he sat the boy in the chair and said: "I'm just popping to buy a packet of Corn Flakes from the supermarket. I'll be back in a few minutes."
When the boy's hair was cut and the man still hadn't returned, the barber said: "It looks like your dad's forgotten you."
"That wasn't my dad," said the boy. "He just walked up , took me by the had and said, 'Come on, we're going to get a free haircut.'"

The origins of facebook
Facebook was started by Mark Zuckerberg while he was studying at Harvard University. It was a hobby of his and with some funding from Eduardo Saverin he managed to get it running.Within months the ideas behind Facebook had spread to other dorms Harvard, and it turned out to be a great success. It also spread to Standford and Yale, with similar results to Harvard. Sooner or later he was joined by Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes both Harvard students. A little later they dropped out of college to persue their dream of running facebook fulltime. Then they officialy named thefacebook Facebook and brought the domain name Facebook.com for $200,000.
Although now everyone can access facebook, when it started you had to be a member of a recognised school or college in order to create an account, meaning that there were less users then there are now. Facebook's net worth is estimated at around $4billion!

She is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car.
She writes:
Dear Grand-daughter,
The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a
Honk if you love Jesus bumper sticker. I was feeling particularly sassy
that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance,
followed by a thunderous prayer meeting.
So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.
Boy, am I glad I did, what an uplifting experience that followed.
I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in
thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn't notice that the
light had changed.
It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't
honked, I'd never have noticed.
I found that lots of people love Jesus!
While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy,
and then he leaned out of his window and sc reamed,
'For the love of God!'
'Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!'
What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus!
Everyone started honking!
I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those
loving people.
I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love!
There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him
yelling something about a sunny beach.
I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger
stuck up in the air.
I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant.
He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something.
Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii, so I leaned out the window
and gave him the good luck sign right back
My grandson burst out laughing.
Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!!
A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that
they got out of their cars and started walking towards me.
I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is
when I noticed the light had changed.
So, I waved at all my brothers and sisters grinning, and drove on
through the intersection
I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection
before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave
them after all the love we had shared.
So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the
Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away.
Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!
Will write again soon,
Love, Grandma

A joke for today
Keen to let the world know he was still alive, Osama bin Laden sent Bush a letter in his own handwriting. Opening the letter, Bush saw only a coded message: "37OHSSV-O773H". Bush couldn't fuigure it out se he asked Dick Cheney what it ment. Cheney didn't know either but suggested sending it to Donald Rumsfeld..
After scratching his head for a few minutes, Rumsfeld said: "Why now try Condi? She has a doctorate, which means she's smart."
Dr Rice studied the letter beut she was baffled too.
As Bush continued to ponder the mysterious message lying on the desk befor him, a White House cleaner enterd the Oval Office. Reading the message, the cleaner asked: "Sir, where did that come from?"
Bush said: "Supposedly it's a message from Osama bin Laden. But what the hell does "37OHSSV-O773H" mean?"
The cleaner cleared her throat and said: "Mr President, I think you've been looking at the message upide down..."

What is a Wiki??

but do we really know what they are?
Well, say if a group of people wanted to collaborate on a single document on the web without having to all be on 1 computer or having to send multiple e-mails. A Wiki is online and can be edited by anyone, with the right security settings. It means that you can all edit and save a document as a web page very easily and efficiently. A useful video to grasp the simple concept of a Wiki is:
Another useful use for Wikis can be to create a site dedicated to one item, usually something you have a real passion in but cannot find other people to share it with. this is another video on this kind of Wiki

A wiki is basically a web page or collection of web pages which can be edited by virtually anybody, quite often they are used for collaborative documents.
I have found that wikis are very useful, both to students for collaboration, and for research, or just for planning something without any need for endless e-mails.

The Apple iPod Touch
For Christmas i got an iPod Touch. Apple have made a huge success, the iPod Touch is fantastic! It has a sleek design and is easily accessible. The iPod touch comes with a huge range of features:
- It can be used as an iPod through the music player, either through the built in speakers or headphones or external speakers.
- Video player, with the large 3.5 inch multi-touch touch screen it makes viewing videos enjoyable.
- On the iTunes store there is a section where you can download special applications designed for the iPod Touch, they use the build in motion censers and touch screen. Not all the applications are games, many are useful as a utility.
- On the iPod Touch there is a WiFi Receiver which can pick up your local wireless network and allows you to brows the web, view YouTube, or even to go on the iTunes store and download songs, videos or even applications straight onto your
iTouch.
The iPhone is probably the most useful to people who are very busy and need to organise their life, as the iPhone is a Phone, Diary, iPod, Camera, has email, and web browser. This means that they have their who life organised on a hand-held device.
So all in all the iPhone and the iPod Touch are extremely useful, fun, enjoyable and easy to use.

Google Earth, Google Sky & Google Maps
There are many features of Google earth, For example you can turn on 3D buildings to see large buildings in cities; you can also take pre-made tours of historical places or Landmarks. Also there is a hidden bonus: A flight simulator. The Flight simulator is quite cool as you can fly over your own town or city and see your house from the air.
One of the newer features of Google Earth is Google Sky. This allows you to see the sky at night as if you had a telescope. With this you can view constellations, Nebula, Galaxies or Planets. Microsoft has also put out a competing program called The WorldWide Telescope, this is a collection of all the best satellite photographs and is very similar to Google Sky.
Another online program by Google which is similar to Google Earth is Google Maps. This Allows you to view maps of areas and also allows you to see satellite pictures.
Google Earth and Google Maps are very useful for allowing people to see the World and to navigate around it. This is changing the way how we can see the World as it is interactive and allows you to do what you want with just a click of a button. They are both interesting to use because of the many features that they have and the numerous ways in which you can view the World from above.
So in short Google Earth, Google Sky & Google Maps are all really good.
